The underside is finished with a low-density meltable polyethylene film, while the upper surface is self-protected with a sanded finish. The membrane must be protected (with concrete, tiles, asphalt, clay or ceramic tiles, bricks, pavers, reflective paint, soil, etc.) from ultraviolet rays and potential foot traffic to extend its service life.

The membrane is adhered through heat fusion using a gas torch (butane or propane), taking special care to properly seal both transverse and longitudinal overlaps.
